Facebook Ad Design Giveaway

With hatred towards Facebook’s lovely little algorithm that prohibits organic reach to followers, Facebook ads are becoming more and more popular to reach potential clients and customers. If you’ve been thinking about trying them out (or have just started experimenting) here are some points to think about before launching your ads

{And look out! As a bonus for getting all the way to the bottom of this post you’ll be getting a chance to with my Facebook Ad Design Package!}

SOME GREAT THINGS ABOUT FACEBOOK ADS

You can target specific clientele, demographic, locations, likes/dislikes, hobbies and more with Facebook’s Ad Tools
You can target your ads to your email list, to those who have visited your website, and specific interests (as listed above)
You can see how much your ad is converting vs. how much you’re paying for it. Real time results!
If Facebook is a community where you know a lot of your target market is, thess ads are a great way to ensure they’re seeing what you’re posting

2 THINGS TO THINK ABOUT WHEN CREATING YOUR FACEBOOK AD CAMPAIGN

VISUAL IS EVERYTHING

Because Facebook only allows text to fill 20% of your ad (see the 20% rule below) your images are important. I say it all the time, but people will judge a book by it’s cover! And that’s okay, as long as you’ve got an awesome, eye-catching cover! Using attention grabbing photos or interesting illustrations will help your ad to stand out (and get clicked on!). Potential clients/customers will see this image before they even bother to read any text or copy. Make it count!

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TEXT

Because you’ve got such limited space for copy, you need to make sure the words you’re using really matter. Think about what it is that you want your target market to do when they see your ad. What’s the most important thing for them to read? Is it just a callout for your new service or promotion: “Join My Webinar!” or asking them a question you’d like them to consider: “Does Good Design REALLY matter?”. (The answer by the way, is YES, yes it does!) Whatever it is, make sure it’s something that’s going to draw them in and get your ideal client/customer to read more and click through to what you’re offering.

REGULATIONS TO KEEP IN MIND

The 20% rule- Only 20% of your image can have text (this includes your logo too!) And not just 20%, if you take your ad design and fill it with a 20 rectangle grid, only 5 of those rectangles can be filled with text. I know, it’s crazy! You can also check that your image is good by uploading it at 20percentrule.info

The best size for website conversions and clicks to your site is 1,200 x 628 pixels. If your goal is something else (pages likes, etc) check here for dimensions
