I’ve been up to some fun stuff in the past few weeks (including some fun birth announcements for the etsy shop, coming soon!). Today, I thought I’d quickly share a custom print I made for my Aunt and Uncle. My Uncle recently officiated his first wedding and wanted to give the newlyweds a special gift as a reminder of the promises they made to each other.
This was a bit of a challenge because there was sooo much text (lots of promises to make!), but as usual I took out my handy dandy notebook just like in Blue’s Clues sketchbook and drew out a few ideas. I got some feedback from my Uncle and proceeded with the Big Cross Idea, which was his favorite.
Their last name is hand-lettered at the bottom and I picked these bright jewel colors because their wedding was peacock themed. I’ll admit about halfway through the process I had my doubts about being able to fit everything together perfectly (I’m pretty sure it’s a rule for anyone in the creative process to go through this cloud of doubt. Every. Single. Time.) BUT I’m so proud how of how this turned out!
I’m still working on figuring out how to best take pictures of my prints- next time I’m going to take the glass out of the frame before shooting. I despise this window glare. I have a few ideas for even better pics next time (one of my favorite goals this year is to master my DSLR…and camera editing) :)
Love this? Want one of your own? I think custom work is SO much fun! Contact me today or visit my Etsy Page for a few already created options.
