I have no idea how many times in the past few weeks I’ve uttered the phrase “I just don’t know WHAT I’m doing.” And I didn’t mean with my to-do list, the small project I was working on, or even with my plan for the day. Just with this silly little thing called MY LIFE. No big deal, right?
The funny thing is that in these seasons of too many questions and so much doubt and more changes than I even want to count; I learn to find solace in the little things. More so than usual.
A quiet moment (with no electronic distractions or to-do lists), Telling jokes and laughing with my husband in the car, Seeing him do the moonwalk after he forced me to watch a documentary on NASA, Cheeseburgers and milkshakes for dinner, Finding this on pinterest nearly busting a gut (tell me I’m not the only one who finds this hilarious), Reading that I’m not the only one who feels like this (thanks Farideh!) and so so many more.
These moments–however long, however fleeting– help me to step back and appreciate that this season, these years I’m in right now? They don’t have to be completely figured out. These years are for exploring.
When that idea finally hit me I wanted to share it with you in case you need the reminder yourself. So true! Great that you had that realization quickly in one of those “off” moments! Farideh’s post helped me out too! :)
Getting inspiration when you least expect it is the best!
Such a solid reminder! There are SO many days when the exploration can feel like a dead end. Thanks for this!
A dead end is such a great way to put it, because that’s exactly how it feels sometimes. Glad you can relate!
Girl I can relate. Sometimes there is a fine line between feeling exploratory and crazy…but on a good day I’m exploratory…and THAT is awesome! Thanks for the gorgeous graphic!
A super fine line! Glad I’m not the only one to feel this way. Thanks! :)
There must be a bug of this going ’round… My newsletter was very much like this, too!
We will ALL figure this out!
Smooches!
Yes! Solidarity! :)
I think its amazing when we are in a situation where we don’t know and we become frazzled or frustrated. And then in time there is a moment of calm and self-encouragement. :)
It’s so great when that moment comes!
You just made my day with this printable. Aren’t we all exploring? Thanks for sharing, very relatable.
Aw, thanks! I’m glad I could make your day happier!
Oh yes! Love this Megan! It reminds me of another quote: ‘There are years that ask questions and years that answer’ – Zora Neale Hurston. This past year has definitely been hurling questions left, right and centre, but you are so right that in finding some joy even in those emotionally and mentally turbulent times, by accepting and enjoying the moment (rather than resisting everything), the sooner we will then arrive at our year of answers. A great reminder, thank you :).
Oh, I love that quote! I haven’t’ heard it before, but it’s so true.
Great pick me up! :-) Thanks so much for sharing :-) Here’s to the journey :-) Let’s all go explore!
Here,Here! And thanks :)
Yup! I also say these are the years of poverty…but exploration sounds much better! :P
Oh, so true! I saw on Pinterest a quote that said “These are the years of small paychecks and big memories.” I almost used that one instead.
